naumovichJim Naumovich ’85 is currently in his 10th year as the Commissioner of the Great Lakes Valley Conference—the largest NCAA Division II conference in the country and home conference to Quincy University.  He is currently the longest tenured commissioner in the league’s 32 year history and has led the expansion of the league from 11 to 16 teams during his ten years as commissioner.   Naumovich is responsible for administering 17 conference championship events along with scheduling, rules compliance, marketing, officiating, and fundraising.  He works directly with everyone from university presidents, athletic directors, faculty/athletic representatives, senior women administrators, coaches, and student athletes.

In October, Naumovich was named president of the Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association (CCA) where he plans and regulates the association’s three annual meetings and acts as a liaison to the NCAA and the Division II Athletic Directors Association.

He attributes much of his success to his professors, colleagues, and friends at Quincy University (where at different times throughout 1985-2000 he served as Directors of Alumni, Sports Information, and Athletics).  Jim currently lives in Indianapolis with his wife Carolyn (’87) and four kids.
