Julie Bell
Vice President for University Advancement

As Vice President for University Advancement, Julie Bell oversees all operations relating to University development, alumni services, and communications.  She is responsible for the identifying, cultivating, and soliciting of major gift donors and serves as the advancement liaison to the Board of Trustees.  Julie joined the Quincy University staff in 2005 after serving for ten years as alumni director of her alma mater, Grand View University.


Matt Bergman
Director of Development and Alumni Services

Matt directs all aspects of the Quincy University Fund and assists in the cultivation of annual and major gifts from prospective donors.  He oversees alumni and student events, productions, and fundraising efforts designed to financially strengthen the University.  Matt is a 1999 graduate of Quincy University and joined the staff in 2011.


Heidi Meyer
Director of University Communications

Heidi manages all marketing, advertising, and public relations aspects of Quincy University.  She serves as a media liaison to the University and crafts press releases and other public information items for print and online purposes.  She also serves as editor of the biannual "QUniverse" magazine.  Heidi is an alumna of Western Illinois University where she earned a B.A. in Public Communications & Human Relations.

Julie Boll
Grants Writer

As the University's grants writer, Julie spearheads the efforts to discover and research new grant funding opportunities for Quincy University programs and projects.  Julie coordinates with faculty, staff, administration, and students to identify university needs and develop grant proposals on behalf of the university.  Julie is a 2002 graduate of Quincy University and joined the staff in 2011.  She is currently pursuing a master's degree in educational leadership from QU.


Rachel Peterson
Alumni Services Specialist

Rachel assists in cultivating current and prospective donors from all across the country through a number of facets.  She coordinates alumni events of every sort and serves as staff liaison to the University's National Alumni Board and various nationwide alumni chapters.  Rachel is a 1992 graduate of Quincy University and joined the advancement staff in 2013.


Ben Braun
Writer / Editor

Ben oversees and maintains web content for the University and coordinates official university and alumni-related social media channels.  He writes and designs monthly e-newsletters for alumni and is a contributing writer for the biannual "QUniverse" publication.  He earned a B.A. in 2007 and a master's in educational leadership in 2012 (both from QU).  He joined the staff in 2009 as alumni coordinator and served as Communications Coordinator from 2013 to 2014 before being named writer and editor in late 2014.


Bill Beard
Visual Communications Specialist

Bill coordinates, designs, and oversees the creation and production of all visual communications initiatives for QU.  He monitors the usage of university photos/logos and constructs layouts and graphics for the "QUniverse" publication.  Bill holds an associate's degree from John Wood Community College and is the creator of a weekly editorial cartoon in the "Pike Press" of Pittsfield, Illinois.  Bill joined the staff in 2010 with over 15 years in professional graphic design.

Richard Markey
Web & Digital Content Coordinator

Richard oversees Quincy University's online presence through content management for its website, social media and email initiatives. He is a graduate of Quincy University with a bachelor's in Communications.



Chris Simmons
Database and Event Assistant

Chris manages and updates the 10,000+ member alumni and donor database to ensure accuracy for the purposes of fundraising letters, event postcards, publications, and other alumni-focused mailings.  She is a valued contributor to the "QUniverse" magazine and actively assists in the planning and execution of all alumni events.  Chris joined the staff in 2009.


Kendall Bowen
Gifts and Reports Assistant

Kendall assists in all facets of university fundraising.  She facilitates all gifts made to the university by way of issuing receipts, monitoring giving trends, tracking solicitation efforts, and preparing gift and special project reports.  In addition, she coordinates the annual Honor Roll of Donors for the "QUniverse" publication.  Kendall joined the staff in 2011.
