QU Retired Faculty-Staff Association Hold Annual Meeting

The third annual meeting and spring social of the Quincy University Retired Faculty - Staff Association was held on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, in Holy Cross Friary on the Quincy University campus. QU Vice President for Student Affairs, Tiffany Quinze, EdD, shared with the group an update on new programs and activities in the area of Student Services.

Officers elected for the new year were: Paul Brown, president; Dave Costigan, president-elect; Pat Laytham, secretary; Joanne Ortwerth, treasurer; Fr. John Ostdiek, OFM and Bill Gasser, executive committee members. Mary Ann Klein is immediate past-president, Al Pogge is newsletter editor, and Julie Bell is university liaison.

This three-year old organization is for all retired persons, Lay and Franciscan, who have been full-time or part-time employees of Quincy University, and their spouses. They are all invited and encouraged to participate. The group has quarterly social meetings and offers educational and recreational activities both on campus and off campus.

The Retired Faculty - Staff Association has four purposes:

• Enrich the retirement experience of members
• Render service to Quincy University
• Provide feedback and suggestions to University officials
• Represent members' status with the University
