QU Professor's Cicada Article Published

Dr. Joe Coelho, Associate Professor of Biology, recently published an article entitled "Near-Optimal Foraging in the Pacific Cicada Killer Sphecius convallis Patton (Hymenoptera: Crabronidae)." The paper was coauthored with Jon Hastings (Northern Kentucky University) and Chuck Holliday (Lafayette College), and appears in the online journal Insects. The paper is the first on the biology of the Pacific cicada killer to appear in the literature, and a product of Coelho's 2009 research expedition to Arizona.
