QU Professor to Judge Art Competition
Bob MejerRobert Lee Mejer, Distinguished Professor of Art will serve as sole juror of selection and awards for the First Church's National Celebration of the Arts 39th Annual Juried Spiritual Art Competition, February 5, 2012. The exhibition is to take place at First United Methodist Church, Grand Rapids, Michigan with an opening night awards announcement Friday, February 10. This is one of the largest spiritual art shows in the country. You can learn more about the event bu clicking here.Mejer will attend/participate in the Self –Employment in the Arts Conference along with colleagues and students. He will be the sole juror of selection and awards for the 3rd Annual SEA Juried College Art Competition during the event to be held February 24 & 25th, 2012 at the Hilton Hotel in Lisle, Illinois.
Then in March, Mejer will be the awards juror for the Keokuk Area Fine Arts Council-Annual Area High School Art Show, Eight Schools will enter work in 6 categories; Painting, Watercolor, Drawing, Pastels, 3-D and Mixed Media. There will be a First, Second and Third in each category. The judging will be on March 5, 2012. The exhibit will be held in the Round room of the Keokuk Public Library from March 5-25, 2012.
