QU Presents Original Musical at MacHugh Theatre

Quincy University’s theater department will present an original musical titled Booth. The show runs Thursday December 8 and Friday December 9 at 7 p.m. in QU’s MacHugh Theatre.  The cost for students and children is $4 and the cost for adults and faculty is $5.

Booth, book & lyrics by Valerie Hernandez with music by QU senior LaRon Grant, is an original musical telling the strange love story of John Wilkes Booth and Lucy Lambert Hale. It is the final days of the Civil War. The tide has turned and the Union is about to overtake the Confederacy. John Wilkes Booth, famous actor from a famous family, decides something must be done to help his beloved South. With a posse of rebel spies, he plots against President Lincoln. But first, he meets Lucy Hale, abolitionist and Union Senator's daughter. Is it true love or lucky opportunity? With a sweeping score, Booth is a tale of love, hate, and history.
