National School Counseling Week is February 3rd-7th, 2014. The theme for the week is “Building Magical Futures”, and is intended to celebrate the various ways that school counselors positively influence the future development of their students. The week is sponsored by the American School Counselor Association, an organization that supports professional school counselors and counseling students across the country.
More than 32,000 school counselors nationwide are participating in the week’s festivities. Many school counselors will be hosting special events to raise awareness of the benefits of a comprehensive school counseling program. Students enrolled in the QU MEC program that plan to be professional school counselors are marking the occasion by creating care packages for area school counselors. These packages are intended to express support and appreciation for the school counselors who have such a positive impact on the children in our communities. The faculty and students of the MEC program encourage you to say “Thank you” to the school counselors that you know.
