QU Receives Grant For Campus Security Improvements

Quincy University has been awarded $171,900 from the Marion Gardner Jackson Charitable Trust to fund the first phase of an enhanced security project for the campus community of 1600 students, faculty and staff.

The project will create a security card access system for Francis Hall, QU's primary academic and administrative building. It will also fund the installation of security cameras throughout campus. Implementation of the project is scheduled to begin later this spring.

"We are grateful to the Marion Gardner Jackson Charitable Trust for its support of this vital security initiative. We are proud of QU's excellent record for security, and this project will enhance campus safety even further," said Dr. Robert Gervasi, Quincy University President.

The Marion Gardner Jackson Charitable Trust was established by the granddaughter of Robert W. Gardner, founder of the Gardner-Denver Company. The trust provides support to not-for-profit organizations in Quincy and the surrounding communities.
