QU Student Struck by Car

The Quincy University community continues to send its thoughts and prayers this morning to QU freshman, Shannon Peters. Shannon was struck by a car Monday night in front of Garner Hall. She is currently listed in critical condition at Blessing Hospital.

"Our hearts go out to Shannon and her family at this most difficult time. We will continue to keep them foremost in our prayers," said Robert Gervasi, president of Quincy University.

Special arrangements have been made on campus to comfort Shannon's friends and classmates. Tiffany Nolan, vice president for student affairs, is encouraging students who need assistance to visit the Counseling Center, located on the ground floor of Friars Hall. The center can be reached by dialing extension 3785.

"It is important that we come together as a college community and offer each other support while we attempt to come to terms with this terrible accident," Nolan said.
