QU to Honor Alum with One-Person Gallery Exhibition
Lydia O'Neal-Little Eyes Teach Dangerous Things, GraphiteArea artist Lydia Tanski O'Neal will be honored this fall with a one-person exhibition at her alma mater, Quincy University.
O'Neal's graphite drawings will be on display in the Gray Gallery of Brenner Library Sept. 10 – Oct. 5 during the Outstanding Alumni Invitational Exhibition. A gallery reception will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15, 3 – 4:30 p.m. Both the exhibition and the reception will be open to the public without charge, thanks to sponsorship by the division of fine arts and communication.
A 1976 graduate, O'Neal was recently honored for her drawing "Little Eyes Teach Dangerous Things," which earned third prize in the Mary S. Oakley and Lee Lindsay Artists' Showcase at the Quincy Art Center. Her work has been exhibited in a number of area juried shows, and she serves as instructor at the Keokuk Art Center and as a presenter for the Keokuk arts in the schools program.
