"I love working with prospective students and families. I love showing them all that Quincy University has to offer and helping them navigate the admissions process. The college search process can often be very intimidating—I hope that I can alleviate some of those fears and worries and point students in the right direction."
Dominic O'Donnell will probably make you laugh. He might call you "dude" a few times. And, if you enjoy sports, watch out—he's a sports trivia fanatic. At the same time, he's committed to the prospective students he counsels. He's thorough, providing as much information to students and families as possible, and his top goal is helping students find the right college "fit."
He knows about fit. As a college student, Dominic transferred to Quincy University after spending several years at a college that just wasn't right for him. "While I had a lot of fun and met some of my dearest friends, I was not in the right academic fit," he says. "It wasn't until I transferred to Quincy that I realized that the right school can have a drastic impact on the success of a student. The path that I took through college has not only shaped me in my belief in Quincy University, but has also allowed me to help students find their 'perfect fit.'"
Dominic also found the right fit as a Quincy admissions counselor, a position he's had since 2002. "I'm here to help," he says. "I'm very proud of being a Quincy graduate, but even prouder of the way Quincy has shaped me as a person. I hope to show students how they might fit into this university, and at the very least, provide guidance as they try to make the best choice for themselves."
