If you're a fan of science and math or love to design, build, and invent things, a career in engineering may be for you. Quincy University's Pre-Engineering program prepares you for continued Engineering study at other colleges or universities.

You have two options in our Pre-Engineering program:

Option 1: You enter a 3-2 program, wherein you spend three years at Quincy University taking our Pre-Engineering core sequence and general liberal arts courses; then spend two years at Washington University, St. Louis (assuming a strong grade point average), in a comprehensive engineering curriculum. At the end of five years, you will receive the baccalaureate degree in Physical Science from Quincy University and a degree in Engineering from Washington University. An added year at Washington University would lead to a Master's Degree.

Option 2: You complete a two-year General Education/Pre-Engineering sequence at Quincy University and then transfer to an engineering school of your choice. No degree is awarded from Quincy University.

The core of our curriculum consists of General Chemistry I and II; Principles of Physics I, II, and III; Calculus and Analytic Geometry I, II, and III; and Differential Equations. In both of our Pre-Engineering options, you'll benefit from Quincy's Franciscan commitment to individualized instruction in every aspect of your education. Our classes are small and our professors are dedicated to your success. Consequently, our Pre-Engineering program is a great way to build a strong educational foundation that will support you as you begin your engineering coursework.
