If you see yourself as a leader who empowers others to create a future of health and physical activity, Quincy University has just the program for you. Our Physical Education curriculum is designed to qualify students for K–12 teacher certification, challenging them to become servant leaders with a commitment to the success of all learners.
Courses are taught by experienced educators who are dedicated to mentoring the teachers of the future. Through the distinctive and extensive teaching experiences provided by the Professional Development School (PDS) model, you will develop the ability to teach movement skills effectively and to analyze the benefits and effects of physical activity. You'll learn sound physical fitness training principles and how to motivate students to value and strive to achieve a healthy lifestyle.
The program offers a bachelor of science degree in Physical Education and minors in Physical Education, Exercise Science, and Coaching. The Coaching minor enables students the opportunity to become certified as a head coach for an Illinois interscholastic athletic team.
