Auditions
All incoming students planning to major in music, music education, or communication and music production must successfully complete an audition before the music faculty to be accepted into the Music Program. Non-majors are welcome to participate in a variety of music ensembles pending successful auditions before the appropriate music faculty.
In addition, students are required to audition to be eligible for grant money .

Music Education and Music Performance Majors and Minors:
Communication and Music Production Majors:
Same as above requirements but with the following three major scales in place of #2:
In addition, students are required to audition to be eligible for grant money .

- The remaining audition dates are February 11th and February 25th. Auditions need to be scheduled by March 1st.

Music Education and Music Performance Majors and Minors:
- Perform two solo pieces or etudes:
Instrumental*
one lyrical
one technical - Vocal
one classical style
another classical style or from musical theater - Perform any three chromatically adjacent scales (vocalists excluded)
- Sight reading for instrumentalists and vocalists
- Basic theory and Basic Aural Skills examination taken first week of classes
Communication and Music Production Majors:
Same as above requirements but with the following three major scales in place of #2:
- C Major
- F Major
- G Major
