QUINCY, IL – Quincy University President, Dr. Robert Gervasi, announced April 20th that ABC News’ Chief Investigative Correspondent Brian Ross will deliver the keynote address during Quincy University’s 2016 commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 15th. Mr. Ross will address students and parents of the graduating class of 2016, along with University trustees, faculty, alumni and staff.

“We are honored to have Mr. Ross address our students. He has dedicated his life’s work to promoting justice both nationally and internationally. He embodies the QU mission, serving as a living example of how our students can go forward to transform the world around them,” said Gervasi.

Throughout his 45-year career, Mr. Ross has remained committed to the pillars of journalism: accuracy, fairness and integrity. Those values have led Ross around the world to investigate crimes against humanity. Mr. Ross has reported extensively on international human rights abuses, winning numerous top journalism awards for exposes on the sale of executed prisoners’ kidneys in China; sweatshop labor in Saipan and sexual misconduct by U.N. peacekeepers in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Mr. Ross’s work has been repeatedly honored with the most prestigious awards in journalism, including seven duPont-Columbia Awards, six Peabody Awards, six Polk Awards, 16 Emmys, five awards from the Overseas Press Club, and five Edward R. Murrow Awards and many more.

On May 15th, 2016 Quincy University will award 262 Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees. Top degree fields include Nursing, Biological Sciences, Business and Education.
