Assistant Professor English Quincy University, a small Catholic liberal arts university in the Franciscan tradition, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in English to begin in August 2008. Preferred areas of specialization are 18th and 19th century English literature and world literature. Ph.D. required. We seek an energetic teacher, an active scholar, and a dependable colleague who will participate enthusiastically in an ambitious schedule of undergraduate programs and activities, including a reading and lecture series, a literary journal, and various student activities. Normal teaching load is twelve credit hours per semester. Full-time English faculty members at Q.U. typically teach two sections each term in our first-year composition program, as well as general education and upper-level courses. Experience with and enthusiasm for composition a must. Assistant Professor Human Services Quincy University invites applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level in a new program in Human Services, effective August 15, 2008. We seek individuals with a completed doctorate in Counseling, Social Work, or related discipline, university teaching experience, and experience in the Human Services field. We will consider candidates with a master’s degree, progress towards a doctorate, and significant field experience, but candidates with a doctorate are preferred. The successful candidate will teach a variety of courses across the Human Services curriculum, advise students, and participate in developing this new program. Additional responsibilities include scholarship and university service. Assistant/Associate Professor Graduate Program in Counseling and Undergraduate Education Quincy University, a Catholic liberal arts institution with 1,100 students, seeks qualified candidates for a tenure track position in the School of Education. The teaching responsibilities for the postion include courses in the graduate counseling program and in the undergraduate School of Education. We seek a candidate who is comfortable working at a small Franciscan Catholic University in a rural setting, has successful teaching experience, and is excited at the prospect of helping the graduate program grow. Responsibilities include teaching a wide range of graduate courses in school counseling, community counseling and some undergraduate courses such as educational psychology in the School of Education. The selected candidate will also be responsible for advising undergraduate students and might be asked to supervise practica and internships. Successful candidates will have an earned doctorate (ABD considered) in Counselor Education, Counseling or Clinical Psychology or related field. Position to begin Fall 2008. Assistant/Associate Professor Sport Management/Physical Education Quincy University invites applicants for a full-time position in the School of Education at the Assistant/Associate Professor level beginning in the Fall of 2008. The opening is for a 9-month position with the possibility of summer employment. A Master's degree in sport management, physical education or a related field with an emphasis in sport management is required. PhD is preferred. Preferences will be given to candidates with 5-7 years of K-12 and/or college teaching experience and evidence of scholarly productivity. Focus is on teaching undergraduate courses in sport management. Additional physical education or exercise science courses wil be assigned depending on qualifications.
