Associate Vice President for Student Affairs
Quincy University, a Franciscan Catholic liberal arts university located in Quincy, IL invites applications and nominations for Associate Vice President Student Affairs.
Reporting to the Sr. Vice President for Academic & Student Services, the Associate Vice President will provide strong leadership for staff in Student Affairs, in keeping with the Catholic and Franciscan mission of the University. The person in this position will lead in a collaborative, collegial manner and will be expected to be a strong advocate for all of the University’s students, focusing on how the University can effectively and efficiently meet their various academic, social, cultural and personal needs. The Associate Vice President will be expected to be knowledgeable and well-versed in all areas of Student Affairs and its various components, including new student orientation; student disciplinary & judicial processes; student activities, organizations & Greek life; campus/student housing; student government; programming for both on-campus & off-campus students; multicultural services & event programming; and student development & leadership. Recent and relevant experiences with Student Affairs on the campus of a private, faith-based institution of higher learning would be especially helpful as would active engagement with creative, innovative and successful practices and programs.
Major Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Provide dynamic, visionary leadership and effective administrative oversight of programs and services off by the Office of Student Affairs.
- In a collaborative manner, provide for comprehensive planning to ensure the University’s Student Affairs programs and services are consistently state-of-the-art and of the highest quality possible.
- Hire and supervise professional and support staff, conducting and/or reviewing performance reviews as necessary
- Develop and supervise Student Affairs' budgets, providing careful oversight for all budget areas, operational and restricted
- Offer leadership to and advocacy for the student body.
- Provide leadership in interpreting and implementing state and federal regulations related to student services.
- Work collaboratively with the College's leadership to develop strategies for enhancing enrollment and retention of students.
- Provide leadership in the review, analysis and interpretation of policies related to student services offered to all University students.
- Coordinate assessment activities for all areas of supervision. Keep the President apprised of critical issues in student services.
Experience and Qualifications:
- An applicable Masters degree required
- A minimum of 5-7 years experience in Student Affairs,
- Knowledge of legal obligations applicable to student affairs practitioners including due process, privacy rights and FERPA.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills required, including team building abilities and conflict resolution experience. Must be able to relate to faculty, staff and students as well as alumni and off-campus constituencies effectively, collegially and collaboratively.
- Knowledge of psychosocial/ cognitive development of college students, the ethic of caring for students, scholarship within the field
- Active involvement in relevant professional associations,
- Knowledge of current literature/research,
- The ability to work within a complex and diverse institutional environment.

Coordinator for Off-Campus Education Programs
Quincy University seeks qualified candidates for the position of Coordinator for Off-Campus Education Programs. This position will serve as the primary contact between the School of Education Chicago and Springfield programs and the QU offices of: School of Education, Academic Affairs, Admissions, Financial Aid, Business Office, and Registrar. The coordinator will: maintain communication between the Chicago and Springfield sites and the main campus; effectively monitor record-keeping in regard to student admissions, academic progress, billing and financial aid; ensure off-campus compliance with all applicable institutional and accreditation requirements and policies. Qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree; excellent computer, organization, communication and interpersonal skills; detail-oriented; ability to multi-task.
