The Student Programming Board (SPB) is the main programming organization on campus. SPB is an organization run by students for students and provides campus-wide programs like comedians, bands, movies, hypnotists and the popular Rock the Nest. SPB is an organization that can provide you with many opportunities for involvement, ranging from being an active participant and member of SPB, to just attending one of the many programs offered. As a member of SPB, you can be directly involved in the planning and promotion of any number and type of event. We hold weekly meetings at 9 p.m. in the Hawk’s Nest, located in the Lower Level of the Student Center. Stop in and share your new ideas with us.
When considering entertainment, look for these main pieces from SPB:

Friday Night Live typically happens on Friday nights. We usually host comedians, jugglers, hypnotists, and bands at these events. These performances are held in the Main Dining Room.

Rock the Nest is our acoustic series that typically is held on Thursday nights. These are usually comprised of one or two musicians that play “unplugged” for our students. These events are held in the Hawks’ Nest, which used to be our campus bar and is now mainly used for events and meetings to preserve the rich history that the venue holds.
Special Events at QU are:

Alumni Weekend, Fathers’ Weekend, Mothers’ Weekend, Family Weekend and other special event days throughout the school year, which do not fit in with our Rock the Nest or Friday Night Live series. For instance, a ski trip, speed dating on Valentine’s Day,
and an Easter egg hunt.
