At approximately 10:40 a.m. the Quincy Police Department alerted Quincy University security that a suspect being pursued was on QU campus. According to police, the suspect was chased into Francis Hall. All Francis Hall offices and classrooms were locked as a safety precaution. Students in the halls were taken into administrative offices or classrooms. At 11:10 a.m. Quincy Police notified Quincy University the suspect was apprehended and the campus was secure. The lockdown has been lifted and classes have resumed as normal.

On 04-15-08 at 4:50pm the Quincy University Security Office was notified by the Quincy Police Department of an incident that took place on Lind Street between 20th and 22nd. According to police reports a white male wearing a dirty black t-shirt and blue jeans attempted to enter a residence through a rear window. The male subject was known to the residents of the house and at this time this does not appear to be a random incident. The male did not attempt to commit any additional offenses according to information available at this time. The subject fled the area on foot. Please remember to keep all doors to your residence locked at all times. Notify security of any suspicious behavior that you may witness by calling 228-5600.

On 7-18-07 Quincy University Security was made aware that local law enforcement is currently investigating a Home Invasion that occurred at a residence on North 20th Street during the late evening of 7-17-07. The residence is not located on our campus and is not owned by the University but borders a portion of our campus. The information that we have so far indicates there were two individuals who entered the house and displayed weapons. We do not have any other information at this time. As always if you feel uncomfortable about walking across campus alone the Security Department does offer an escort service that we encourage you to use. Anyone having any information regarding the above incident is encouraged to contact the Security Department or the Quincy Police Department as soon as possible. Please notify Campus Security immediately if you notice any suspicious behavior.
