How big are the rooms?
Willer Suites 11´5´ x 16 ; Friars 11 6 x 19 6 ; Centennial, Padua & Garner 10´6´ x 15´6´
What are the measurements for the dresser?
2´ x 4´
How much space is between the two beds?
6´
Can I bunk the bed?
All beds can be bunked. We do not allow lofts.
How much space is between the floor & the bottom of the bed?
18 inches
How big is the closet?
They are comparable in size to the average hotel room closet.
How many outlets are in the room?
4 (four)
What should I bring?
Whatever you would not be comfortable living without. Remember, however, that these are dorm rooms, and there is a limited amount of space. Items not allowed are: halogen lamps, hot plates, space heaters and anything with an open heating element.
Is there a sink in the room?
Sinks are only in Friars Hall rooms.
What size are the mattresses?
Padua, Centennial, Willer & Woods take x-tra long twin 80´. Garner, standard 76´ twin bunks.
How deep are the mattresses?
X-tra long sheets will fit all beds, including standard.
Is there a lamp?
On wall above desk is not moveable
Can I nail pictures to the walls?
NO. nails are not permitted as this would damage the walls.
Can I put tape on the walls?
Scotch tape is preferred no gray duct tape, no tacky putty, NO NAILS
Are the rooms carpeted? Centennial, Garner & Willer are carpeted. Padua has carpet in hallways only. Friars Hall has no carpet.
Is there a chair in the room?
Yes
Do we provide refrigerators/microwaves/air conditioners?
No, although Friars Hall & Willer Hall have air.
Do we provide phones?
Bring your own, however, local telephone service, basic cable & voice-mail are provided.
How do I call long distance?
You will have to purchase a phone card from a retail outlet.
How big can the air conditioner be?
The maximum size is 5000 BTUs and 13 3/4 inches high.
How big can the refrigerator be?
No larger than 5 cubic feet.
Can both my roommate & I have a refrigerator?
No. This will most likely cause a blown fuse. Work this out with your roommate before you get here. There is a limited amount of space & power outlets.
Do I need a computer cord? Cable cord?
You will need a Cat 5 Cable (available at bookstore)
How far is the outlet from the desk?
There is an outlet by each desk, and one by each dresser.
Should I bring winter clothes?
Yes, if you will not be going home before winter hits. It does get cold.
Can I move in early?
Students may not move in before the official move in date.
Can I stay over breaks?
Residence Halls close over Christmas Break, Spring Break, and Easter Break & Thanksgiving Break. Students in Residence Halls must leave during these breaks.
Am I required to have a meal plan?
Yes, all students in Residence Halls must have a Meal Plan.
