Announcing Our 2007-2008 Annual Fund Chair:
Suzanne ‘Susie’ Boudreau ’75
 I am honored to serve as Chair for the 2007-2008 Annual Fund Drive.
Our theme for this year’s drive is “Believe in QU . . . Believe in Me.”
That theme connects the University’s past with its present since it is
rooted in the strong faith of the Franciscan Friars who founded Quincy
University in 1860. The Friars ‘believed.’ They had faith and
confidence that the path they had chosen would lead to great things.
Our task today is to build upon that faith and confidence as we
strengthen the University’s foundation so that its best years are ahead.
Growing up in Teutopolis, Illinois, and having parents who were lay
members of the 3rd Order Franciscans, there was never any doubt where I would further my education after high school. My educational
path led me to Quincy University, a decision that ranks as one of the
best choices my parents and I made about my future. I know that I
benefited personally and professionally from my outstanding Catholic,
Franciscan liberal arts education. I am very proud that my husband
Dennis ’76, our son Matt ’99, and our daughter Jennifer Lepper ’01 also
are QU graduates.
Living in the city of Quincy, I have come to realize the significant
financial impact that this University has on our local economy.
Wherever you go in this city, you are likely to encounter people who
are associated with Quincy University, including current and former
faculty, staff,
alumni and students. Our small business alone employs
twelve Quincy University alumni. As I look to the future, it is my fervent hope that my grandchildren
will one day have the opportunity to experience the outstanding
education that QU offers. To make that happen for them and for future
generations, we need to encourage our alumni, parents, friends and the
local business community to support Quincy University’s unrestricted
Annual Fund. Our goal this year is to raise $1 million dollars in
unrestricted giving. With your help and support, we can accomplish our
goal and, thereby, provide the financial resources that will enable
Quincy University to solidify its future for the next 150 years.
I hope you will join me in this walk of faith. Let the Franciscan
mission continue.
