Friar's Plaza

Welcome to Quincy University and the beginning of your tour! Friar's Plaza is place to sit and relax with numerous benches for you to sit and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. A beautiful, bronze statue of St. Francis of Assisi welcomes all who visit campus. Dedicated October 2000, Friars' Plaza is dedicated to all of the Franciscan Friars, past, present and future who have and continue to dedicate their lives to the mission of Quincy University. The statue of St. Francis was generously donated by Ferd and Rita Niemann, both QU alumni of the class of 1951. You can also participate in the Brick-by-Brick Program. This is an excellent way to show your QU pride and have a permanent place in the history of QU. Bricks may be purchased to honor graduates, parents, memorials for loved ones or a favorite teacher. All bricks will be placed in Friars’ Plaza or Fr. Lucien Trouy’s Garden, according to the donor’s preference.
