Welcoming Community
Take a walk into QU’s $12 million Health and Fitness Center on a weeknight and you are likely to find at least one exciting, competitive athletic competition. It could be a raucous crowd cheering on the Hawks against a NCAA Division II Great Lakes Valley Conference rival in Pepsi Arena, or ten teams battling it out for the co-ed volleyball intramural crown and accompanying bragging rights t-shirt.
Strolling down QU’s Penny Lane that connects academic buildings and the residence halls, you’ll find a smiling face and a friendly greeting from all you meet.
Students and faculty always seem to find their way to Frank & Clare’s Coffeehouse, named after St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi. Frank and Clare’s offers a comfy place for studying, meetings, improv acts, karaoke, movies and hanging out.
You’ll find hundreds of students in the QU Student Center on many weekends, entertained by top college-circuit performers such as Gavin DeGraw and the ever-popular hypnotist, Dale K.
Whether it’s a student theatre production, study group or intramural game, it’s clear that the QU community shares a special relationship and welcomes all to join the family.
The greater Quincy area caters to the young men and women of QU. Community members are often found on campus cheering on the Hawks and Lady Hawks, enjoying theatre productions and attending Mass. The citizens of Quincy welcome QU students with open arms and encourage them to consider Quincy their "home away from home." |
