You will not only learn to fly single-engine aircraft, but you will also have the opportunity to further your aviation experience in high performance, complex, and multi-engine aircraft.

Quincy University, in partnership with Great River Aviation, LLC, offers students a full-service aviation learning center. The flight labs are located at Quincy Regional Airport which is located about 10 miles from Quincy University.  Quincy Regional Airport is an excellent flight training location with three, paved runaways (7100’, 6000’ and 5400’), low-traffic airspace as well as extensive accommodations for instrument flight approaches.

Flight instruction offered on-site at Great River Aviation, LLC not only give students high quality & individualized training in a variety of different aircraft but also frequent opportunities to interact with corporate and commercial pilots who use the same Fixed Base Operation (FBO) facilities.  The collaboration with Great River also affords QU’s Aviation students a number of different internship opportunities as well.

Quincy University’s Aviation (AVI) program is an FAA 141-approved course of study which provides the AVI student the opportunity to obtain Private, Instrument, Commercial and Certified Flight Instructor ratings. The aviation student may also select to obtain their Multi-engine and Multi-engine Instructor ratings. As an AVI student, you will study, in-depth, the challenging and exciting world of Aviation and Aviation Management.

It is important for pilots, especially those in the commercial airline industry who often deal with the public to have a strong foundation in the liberal arts. A liberal arts background produces well-rounded, intelligent people with strong technical skills as well as the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.  The 145-year liberal arts tradition of Quincy University provides AVI students this high-quality learning experience.

Constructed within its liberal arts tradition, Quincy University’s Aviation Program is designed to prepare men and women to meet the demand of today’s growing aviation industry.
