As a liberal arts university in the Franciscan tradition, Quincy University values highly those disciplines referred to as the Humanities. In our Mission Statement, we at Quincy University commit to inspiring our students to seek not just knowledge, but knowledge that leads to wisdom. The pursuit of that deeper knowledge of self, other, society, world, that we call wisdom is what education within the Humanities strives to accomplish.
As the Chair of Humanities, I welcome you to our on-line site. Explore the courses we offer in English, Literature, Theology, Philosophy, and Foreign Languages. Check out our faculty, who will stimulate and deepen your thinking, challenge your beliefs, stretch your reading, writing, and critical thinking abilities, all while giving you individual and caring attention. Explore with us everything from Socrates to feminist theory, Antigone to The Grateful Dead.
