History
The History Program offers a BA degree and a minor. Students majoring in History may choose a particular emphasis in American or European history. Students may also complete a History major with a Pre-Law emphasis or pursue secondary education certification to teach History.
Six credit hours of senior seminar are required, in which students pursue original primary research. Senior seminar students present their research at the Great River Historical Conference developed and hosted by the QU History Program. Papers by the QU students are known for their critical analysis and use of a wide range of historical documents. Students may also choose to do a Public History internship for on-the-job experience working in history-oriented museums and community agencies. Our graduates have gone on to prestigious history graduate schools and law schools. Many have gone on to successful careers in teaching, museum work, government, and business.
